This group is for Autistic children who benefit from a play-based approach to exploring self-regulation strategies and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Sessions will focus on exploring sensory regulation tools, navigating social relationships, fostering self esteem, and self advocacy.
All group members will have an initial individual session scheduled prior to group sessions, where they will have a chance to explore the session space and start to build a therapeutic relationship with Tory.

The total investment for the group is $540.00 ($90/ session). OAP funding or private insurance can be used to pay for psychotherapy sessions.

SESSION 2
SELF REGULATION
The first group session will center on building safety in the group, exploring sensory regulation tools, and using polyvagal therapy strategies for self regulation.
SESSION 3
SELF ESTEEM
Acceptance and commitment therapy approaches to exploring values, interests, and strengths, will be implemented in the third session. The focus will be fostering self esteem and highlighting unique strengths.
SESSION 1
INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
The first session will focus on building the therapeutic relationships, exploring tools and games in the therapy room, and discussing accommodations with the child and caregiver. This session will be play-based, interest-focused, and flexible.
SESSION 4
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Exploring peer and family relationships, as well as social communication strategies will be the focus of the fourth session. Group members will interact during play-based scenarios and board games, and learn to implement relationship-building skills.
SESSION 5
SELF ADVOCACY & BOUNDARIES
The group will discuss boundaries and strategies for self-advocacy through play scenarios and art therapy activities.
SESSION 6
FLEXIBILITY & SOCIAL COMMUNICATION
Flexibility and social communication will be the focus of the final session, as well as a review of therapy skills. Visual handouts with strategies and tools learned over the course of the group will be provided to parents.
